Meet the Teacher – Thursday Sept. 24
We hope to see you at our Meet the Teacher on Thursday, Sept 24. If you haven’t already done so, sign up for one of the three repeating sessions with your child’s teacher using your MyCBE Account. The grade team will provide a 30-minute information session introducing themselves and providing information about what to expect in that grade. There will be a book fair in the learning commons. If planning to make a purchase, please bring cash if possible. Our school council has arranged to have food trucks on site – they are: Dragon Boat, Bow Tie Pizza & ET Desserts. There will be seating available in the grand hall.
· Meet the Teacher: sessions at 5:00, 5:30 & 6:00 PM
· Book Fair: 4:30-7:00 PM
· Food Trucks: 4:15-7:00 PM
Terry Fox Run
This morning, our school came together to participate in the annual Terry Fox Run. It was wonderful to see our students and staff running, walking, and supporting one another while honoring Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope. Thank you to those who brought in Toonies for Terry. We have raised $775 so far! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this a meaningful event! Thank you, parent volunteers, for helping out today!
Alien In-line Skating Residency
Our in-line skating residency will take place on Oct 1-22 (except not on Oct 6 which is picture day and Oct 19 which is a Non-Instructional day). Each class will have 3 sessions of in-line skating. Watch for permission forms to come home next week. We will share the schedule next week as well so parents will know the specific days that their children will be participating. All equipment is provided, but families are encouraged to send their child’s own helmet if they have one. Thank you to our School Council who are covering the cost of this residency.
Grade 5 Community Walk
Our Grade 5 students have been taking community walks to the Panorama Hills Ridge in the past two weeks, taking the opportunity to explore and learn more about the community and land around our school. It was a great way for students to spend time together, stay active, and build a stronger connection with our local community.
Demographic Verification Forms & Student Health Forms
There are a number of forms that parents/guardians need to complete each year. This includes the Demographic Verification form, as well as various annual authorization and consent forms. These forms can be accessed through your MyCBE account.
The original deadline to complete these forms was Monday, September 14. However, we still have a significant number of families who have not yet submitted all the required forms.
Please take a few minutes to log in to your MyCBE account and complete the outstanding forms for your child as soon as possible. The Demographic Verification form is mandatory each year for Alberta Education and Childcare to confirm student funding.
If your child has any health concerns that the school should be aware of, please complete the Student Health Form and if there is a potentially life-threatening condition, please also complete the Student Health Emergency Response Protocol.

Student Expectations
· Smart Phones/Smart Watches – are not to be used at school. If a student has a device at school, it is to be powered off and kept in their backpack. The school is not responsible for devices that go missing. Please refer to AR 6008 Student Personal Mobile Devices.
· Recess Equipment – Students are asked not to bring their own equipment for use at recess. The school has equipment for each grade team. This also helps us prevent equipment from being lost or damaged and reduces disagreements or conflicts that can arise when students share personal belongings. Thank you for helping us keep recess safe, fair, and enjoyable for everyone.
Invite | National Day for TRC & Orange Shirt Day Events
All CBE staff, students, families, friends, and neighbors are invited to continue learning and show support at the 5th annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day event taking place at the Confluence Historic Site on Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 9-10:30 a.m. This important community gathering is a collaboration between the City of Calgary, CBE, Calgary Catholic School District, Calgary Police Service, Calgary Fire Department, and The Confluence.
