Happy Thanksgiving
A reminder that there is no school on Monday, October 12, as it is the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope you enjoy a wonderful long weekend with family and friends. We are grateful for our amazing PHS community and wish everyone a relaxing and happy Thanksgiving!
Remembrance Day Assembly – Pictures of Veterans Needed
Just a reminder, if you have a family member who served in the military, we would love to honour them during our upcoming Remembrance Day assembly by including their picture in our slideshow. Any digital pictures that you would like to share can be emailed to Brynna Doucette at BryDoucette@cbe.ab.ca . Please also include the person’s military title with the photograph. All Parents/Guardians are invited to join our assembly on Nov 10.
Our Newly Designed Sensory Room
We are excited to introduce our newly designed Sensory Room at Panorama Hills School!
This welcoming space has been thoughtfully designed to provide students with a calm and supportive environment where they can regulate, recharge, and refocus when they need a break from the busy school day. The room includes a curved bench wall base unit with a color changing bubble tube, a marble panel, a laser star projection and some sensory tools to support students in developing self-regulation strategies and returning to their learning feeling ready and refreshed.
We are proud to have created a space that reflects our commitment to student well-being, belonging, and success. We look forward to seeing our students benefit from this new addition to our school.
Donation of Materials needed
We are looking for donations of materials to support some of our upcoming CAD (Community Activity Day) courses. If you have any of the following materials that you would be interested in donating to the school, please send them in to the office by October 23:
- Cardboard tubes (paper towel not toilet).
- Cardboard - Clean and dry cardboard flattened and in a variety of sizes and thickness.
- Bubble Wrap
- Medium/Thick Yarn - for crocheting/knitting projects
A Big Thank You to Home Depot!
A huge thank you to Home Depot on Country Hills Blvd. for their generous support of our music program! They helped us add more buckets to our percussion collection by providing a wonderful discount and a $50 gift card toward our purchase of 18 large buckets and 6 small buckets.
Our students are thrilled to now have a choice of bucket sizes when making music! We are so grateful to Home Depot for supporting music-making at our school and helping us give our students even more opportunities to create, collaborate, and have fun with rhythm.
Thank you, Home Depot, for helping us make some noise!
Photo Day
It was wonderful to see so many of our students dressed up and looking their best for Photo Day on Tuesday! There were lots of smiles, excitement, and special outfits throughout the school. Thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers, from guiding classes to the photo area, helping students get ready for the cameras, and supporting the many little details throughout the day. Your time and energy made a huge difference!
Respectful Behaviour Signage
We have recently displayed new Respectful Behaviour signages in key public areas throughout the school. These signs are a reminder of the importance of treating one another with kindness, respect, and care, and help support a welcoming and safe environment for all students, families, and staff.
You may notice the signs in areas such as our main entrance, office, and other spaces that are frequently used by our school community. Thank you for helping us create a positive, respectful, and welcoming school environment for everyone.
Free Online Well-Being Sessions for Families and Caregivers
Parents and guardians are invited to a live online series focused on supporting child and youth well-being. Hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with experts from the Calgary community, these sessions are designed to equip families with the knowledge, tools and strategies to navigate the challenges and opportunities of raising children and teens today.
