We have experienced our first cold snap and thank you for your support in ensuring students come to school dressed for the weather. It looks like the temperatures will rise this week so please be reminded that we will go outside if the temperatures are warmer than –20 degrees Celsius with the wind chill.
Teachers are presently preparing report cards to be released digitally via MyCBE on January 30. Report cards are used to formally communicate student achievement of the Alberta Education Programs of Study learning outcomes to students, families, the CBE and the province. Report cards require teachers to summarize a term or semester of learning. Students in Kindergarten to Grade 9 receive two formal report cards a year. Ongoing Communication of student progress and achievement for all students occurs in a variety of ways throughout the school year:
Phone calls/emails
Parent, Teacher, Student Conferences
Celebrations of learning
Sharing Assemblies
GradeBook (Powerschool marks)
Please see the attached Parent Guide around Assessment and Reporting which may help prepare you for better understanding the report card.
