Bike Safety Reminder
We would like to remind families of the importance of wearing helmets when riding bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, and skateboards. We have noticed that many students are riding bikes to school without helmets, which is a safety concern. Classes are having conversations about bike safety, and we ask for your support in reinforcing this message at home. Wearing a helmet helps keep our students safe on their way to and from school.
Hats on for Mental Health
We would like to remind our school community that May 6 is Hats on for Mental Health Day. On this day, students and staff are invited to wear a hat as a simple way to show support and help raise awareness about mental health. We look forward to coming together as a school to recognize and support this important cause.
Lost and Found Reminder
Our lost and found area is currently full. We encourage families to have their child check for any missing items as soon as possible. Any unclaimed items will be donated at the end of May. Thank you for your support in helping us keep our space organized.
Working Together to Support a Respectful and Safe School Community
We would like to remind all members of our school community to continue treating one another with respect. If an issue arises at school, please do not address it directly with other students. If you have a concern, we ask that you make an appointment with the school administration, and we will work with you to resolve it. Student safety is a top priority, and we are committed to working collaboratively with families to address concerns in a respectful and supportive manner.
As set out in Section 32 of the Education Act, parents have a responsibility:
a) to ensure that the parent’s conduct contributes to a welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environment;
b) to cooperate and collaborate with school staff to support the delivery of supports and services to the child; and
c) to encourage, foster and advance collaborative, positive and respectful relationships with teachers, principals, other school staff and professionals providing supports and services in the school.
Volunteer Tea
We are excited to celebrate the incredible support of our parent and community volunteers. Please mark your calendars for our upcoming Volunteer Tea, where we look forward to thanking you in person for the time, care, and energy you bring to our school. It’s scheduled for 11 a.m. on May 29th at our school. We truly appreciate everything you do to support our students and staff!
