Panorama Hills School News:

‘The Weekly Howl’

January 9, 2026

🐾 Principal’s Message

Welcome back, everyone, and Happy New Year! I hope our students, families, and staff had a restful and enjoyable winter break. It has been great to see the building full again and to feel the energy return to our classrooms and hallways.

As we settle back into routines, our focus remains on strong learning, positive relationships, and supporting students to do their best each day. January is a good time to re-establish expectations, set goals, and help students ease back into school life with confidence.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. We are looking forward to a positive and productive start to 2026 together.

Families are invited to join us on Thursday, January 15, 2026, for our School Council meeting, held in the DLC from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

❄️ Weather, Dressing for the Season, and Blue Dot Days

As winter settles in, thank you to families for sending students to school dressed for the weather. Coats, hats, mitts, boots, and snow pants make a big difference.

Our Blue Dot Days are working wonderfully. These are days when temperatures, including wind chill, reach –20°C or colder, and students spend more time indoors. We are grateful for families’ support, which has improved traffic flow and helped students get inside safely and quickly.

We also appreciate families understanding that students can enter through any door on colder days to stay warm.

📝 Registration Reminder

Registration for the 2026–2027 school year, including Kindergarten, opens online on January 12. Details and maps about boundary changes and who will be attending Panorama Hills School are available on our school website. We encourage all families to review the maps to see how the changes may affect their child.

Some current Panorama Hills families will be re-designated to Buffalo Rubbing Stone School for the 2026–27 school year. At the same time, we are excited to welcome Kindergarten to Grade 5 students from the Country Hills community to Panorama Hills School. The new Panorama Hills boundary is shown on Map 3, and families living within this area will be designated to attend Panorama Hills School.

Families are encouraged to review the maps so they can plan for a smooth and positive start next year.
