Panorama Hills School News:
The Weekly Howl
April 17, 2026
Principal’s Message:
This week, our school conducted one of our scheduled Lockdown Drills. Each year, we practice two lockdowns as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and prepared learning environment. These drills are an important precaution to ensure that both staff and students understand the procedures to follow in the event of an emergency. We were pleased to have support from the Calgary Police in facilitating this drill, and they commended our school community on how smoothly it went. Staff and students responded quickly, and students demonstrated excellent behavior throughout the exercise. We are very proud of how seriously everyone approached this important practice.
This week we began another round of our Community Activity Days (CAD), where students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of engaging activities across the school in multi-age groups. It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm from students as they take part in activities of their choice. CAD provides not only a fun and enriching experience, but also valuable leadership opportunities for our older students, who play an important role in guiding and supporting younger peers. Thank you so much to our amazing volunteers. Your time is appreciated.
Finally, like many of you, we were surprised by the recent blast of winter weather that swept through our community this week. The sudden snowstorm was certainly a reminder that spring in Alberta can be unpredictable. We are hopeful that this was winter’s final appearance and that we can now look forward to more consistent spring weather in the days ahead.
Warm regards,
Ms. Manser, Acting Principal &
Mrs. Law, Assistant Principal
